I have been sick for the past few days.  I experienced a sore throat, congestion, a fever and my body ached all over.  I missed a day of work on Friday because I could not stop shaking.  I was tired but could not sleep much, an hour here or an hour there.  I was miserable and I thought a thought in the middle of it of how we live in a frail body.  We were not meant to experience sickness or disease in God’s original plan but the consequences of Adam’s sin is what this is.

I am also reminded that we will not be in this frail state forever.  One day the redemption plan of God will come to its fruition and our bodies, as well as our spirits and souls, will be redeemed from this fallen and be replaced with ones meant to live in His Glory.  We will be given new bodies because we will be living on a new earth and heaven.  These current bodies are for this current earth.  A refurbished body is not going to cut it in the new earth.  If God is going to create a new earth and a new heaven for us to live in then He is going create new bodies for those He has elected to spend eternity with Him, all old things must be done away with.

I am a new creation in Christ but right now only my spiritual relationship with my Creator has been restored.  One day, everything will not be restored, everything will be replaced with something new, and that day will be the first day in Glory.

Revelation 21:1-5:  Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place[a] of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,[b] and God himself will be with them as their God.[c] He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”
